How Selling Works

It's free and easy. Choose your username and password and an email address. There's an extra step of signing up to be a seller (after choosing your username).


Set up your shop
Every seller on uShops gets their own shop (for free), located at username.uShops.com. For example, if my username is reefs, my shop is at reefs.uShops.com. You can customize your shop by adding a banner, avatar, announcement etc.

List an item
Listing an item is done in three simple steps. We recommend that you've got your photos and description ready before jumping in. Listing an item is free of charge until further notice.


Selling an item
As a seller you get to choose what payment methods you accept. We recommend PayPal, as it facilitates instant payment and offers anti-fraud protection. When an item sells both the buyer and seller are sent emails with the transaction details in it. There are no sales fees until further notice.


Fees
Sign up - free, your own shop - free, listing an item - free, selling - free. That's it. All listings include up to 4 images. The free mode is for a limited time period and may last upto 6 months. uShops will inform you of the change in usage and features with a 2 week notice sent by email. Yes you can. We already have many sellers in other countries

What currency are fees in?
All fees are in US dollars. When paying your fees by credit card, currency conversion is handled automatically by those services.

Here you'll find answers to questions about shopping on uShops.

How does buying on uShops work?
To buy items, you'll need to create an uShops account (it's free and easy). You purchase items on uShops directly from the seller, using paypal when checking out. Keep in mind that every seller must be paid individually, and all payments must be made within three days of checkout. We ask to pay via PayPal that you submit payment immediately to the seller. Each seller will have their own return policy (if they have one at all), shipping options and payment terms. – ).

How does the shopping cart work?
As you shop around and find items that you like, add them to your cart. Note: items in your cart are not removed from the site or reserved for you, until you complete the checkout process. The majority of items on uShops are unique and thus tend to sell out quickly, so it's a bit risky to leave items in your cart for too long. Once you've got everything you want, click the Checkout button and following the onscreen instructions.

Why am I required to register before being able to buy anything?
Our feedback system relies on being able to identify the parties involved in every transaction. Your username is the unique identifier which makes this possible.

Is uShops is USD and how do I handle currency conversions?
Right now you can only list items in USD on uShops. PayPal (credit card sales) will automatically convert your currency, but all other sales such as money order and check need to be calculated by you. We have plans to offer built-in currency conversion, but as of right now it doesn't exist.

What is PayPal, how does it work on uShops, and how do I buy items with it?
uShops facilitates payments through a third-party service called PayPal™. Sellers must register a Business or Premier account with PayPal, which lets buyers pay securely using their credit card. The buyer does not have to be a member of this service in order to submit a payment.

How does the feedback system work?
You may leave a feedback rating of positive or negative, a textual comment and a "Customer Appreciation Photo" for users whom you've been involved in a transaction with. Your feedback score is the cumulative total of all positives (+1) and negatives (-1) you receive. To leave feedback, login, go to Your uShops > Feedback, and you'll see all items awaiting your feedback there. Neutral feedback does not effect the user's rating number as it's neither positive or negative.

As a buyer, how I do I report any problems with an item?
If an item you pay for is not shipped by the seller, is significantly not as described, or arrives damaged please contact the seller directly to work toward a resolution. If your communication with the seller proves unsuccessful, you should email support@uShops.com with your username and the item number. We will work to resolve the situation. You may also leave appropriate feedback for the seller who failed to ship the item or describe it properly
